Good times are coming! Since July 2010 DECABOW® has its new secret weapon: Bowdyno®. Bowdyno® is able to reveal old secrets and mysteries of archery by testing the entity of archer, bow and arrow. This machine can hold and draw every sport and hunting bow as well as compound and longbows, no matter if left- or right-handed. While drawing it simulates the special attributes of each archer. As a result we gain precise information about bow and archer.
What we measure: arrow speed, arrow weight, drawing dynamic, holding force in anchor point, hand shock, bow energy, arrow energy and the percentage of the efficiency.
For a while DECABOW® longbows are measured by DPLL instead of AMO. This means, that all DECABOW® have the natural draw as point of origin for measurements of drawing weights of 28". The measuring is done from the lowest point of the grip until the nock in full draw.
Bows measured by AMO refer to a draw of 26 1/4" at the lowest point of the grip. This kind of measurement was established in the 1960s as a standard and is based on the lowest point of the grip including 1 3/4" to the front and further to the nock in full draw. If 28" are reached the bow is certificated AMO 28.
Why DPLL? The answer is simple: An archer, who wants to find out his draw, takes a measuring arrow, lays it on his actual bow and draws. The markings on the measuring arrow show the natural draw including the size of the grip. The thickness of the grip is only important for chosing the right arrow length, the natural draw doesn't change at all.
Who now wants to know how far he can take a DECABOW® just needs to follow the instructions above and compare his results with the published test results (chart) to know the exact draw-weight according to his draw.
Since using Bowdyno® we noticed an increase in efficiency. There exist test results according to effect of spine, material and weight of arrows regarding the bow-arrow-system and the hand shock. A loss of energy is detectable using the wrong arrow.
As of now all descriptions of DECABOW® longbows include a detailed analysis on www.bowdyno.com.
